Adding some spice

Since graduating from Hartford, I have found time to focus on me. During my time at Hartford, I dated a guy, (who actually should be considered a boy because of how immature he was) who always the number one focus in my life. I loved him, he loved me. I always put him first and me second. After he broke up with me in New Jersey, I decided that it was me time. Lets make a change and put me first for once. I happen the have the best semester in school when I was single. I went out when I want, I did not have to worry about pleasing him... I just did what I wanted to do.

Getting back to what I was actually talking about...

After moving home, I decided to make some changes in my life to help me physically and emotionally. I decided to bike ride. At first when I was riding, I was doing it for pleasure and to help me loose weight. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to bike twice a day and as time when on, since it was becoming apart of my lifestyle, I decided to find some bike races in the 2012 year. What can I set as a goal now? I ended up doing hours and hours of research and compiling a list of about 15 bike races to do.I definitely want to do bike races in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. I tend to set goals higher than usual and I work three times as hard to accomplish it. I am always looking for people to ride with, and I would be more than happy to train with you!

In addition to the cycling, I have also started to run. I have not been able to run since my junior year of high school. When I was in Virginia Beach for a soccer tournament, I was kicked in the knee cap and had to stop playing soccer. My doctor told me I could not play soccer and needed to find another sport to participate in. I ended up joining the swim team and was captain my junior and senior year. Swimming was the best thing that I could have done to help my knee. It saved me from having surgery or long term knee problems. Well, about a month ago, I started running at the gym and decided to register for a few road races. I have completed two races; a 5 mile and a 5k. I was in NYC last week running a 5k for the Arthritis Foundation. The 5 mile was Thanksgiving morning and I ran that race with my Uncle. I was positive that it would take me more than an hour to run, but I crossed the finish line at 59 minutes. It was such a good feeling to cross that line and know that I completed a goal of mine. The 5k in NYC was something I was excited for! I knew that I would be able to take time off my last race. I knew I would be longer than 40 minutes but no more than 50 minutes. As I got closer to the finish line, I look at the big timer and I see 36 minutes and 45 seconds. I cross the finish line and I see that I was clocked at 37:01. I was so happy after the race was over... another race completed!!

Unsure...

So, I am not sure what to make of this blog. I guess I will be updating this with the following things:
- What is on my mind
- How my day is going
- Any interesting recipe's
- How I made a cake and what I was feeling...

You get the jist of what I am doing. I will call this my live journal.
